1. Wilson A1217 Level 1 T-Balls will be used for all games
2. Number of overs per team is 25 – with a maximum of 5 overs per bowler
3. Start time for AM games is 9
4. Length of the pitch – stump to stump – will be 21 yards (63 feet)
5. Teams will be awarded 2 points for a win, 1 for a tie/draw or 0 for a loss
6. Home teams are responsible for booking the ground. Visiting team will be awarded the game (& 2 points) if the home team fails to do so. Home teams - please retain proof of booking because there have been instances in the past when the home team has had a genuine booking, but the city/parks officials have screwed up. Obviously, the home team will not be penalized in such situations. Visiting team is responsible for getting directions to the field of play. Home team is responsible for notifying the neutral umpire (captain of team designated to umpire) about venue, directions, game time and any plan changes.
7. Only team members that have played a minimum of 1 game can appear for that team in the playoffs.
8. If only one neutral umpire is available, he will serve as the main umpire, with the power to overrule obviously wrong no-ball calls from the leg umpire. The neutral umpire is the official league representative and is empowered with final say on all disputes.
10. The penalty of 1 run for wide applies IN ADDITION to any runs (byes) resulting from the wide ball.
11. The penalty of 1 run for no-ball applies IN ADDITION to any runs off the no-ball.
12. The length of the pitch for all games will be 21 yards.
13. The criteria for quarter finals qualification and seeding within group will be POINTS & NRR in that order.
14. Wides: Draw/place markers at one blade length (bat without handle) from the off stump and half blade length from the leg stump for wides. If a batsman moves, imagine the line to move with him.
15. No-balls: Any full toss delivery over the waist or pitched delivery over the shoulder level when it passes the batsman is a no-ball. KEY: BATSMAN AT THE CREASE IN ERECT position - not bending or taking a stance and irrespective of stepping out the crease; i.e. assuming the batsman is erect and at the crease, would the ball still have passed in such a way to be called a no when it passes the batsman. If a batsman is bowled off a (dipping) no-ball he is out and the no-ball call is reversed. No-ball calls will be made if a bowler’s full foot is outside the crease – cutting/touching the crease will not be called a no-ball.
16. lbw: KEY : ball pitched on or outside the leg stump is NOT OUT even if it seemingly cuts in
17. “No-show”: Any team that shows up with less than 8 players for a game will be declared a no-show team. In addition to forfeiting the game, disciplinary action, up to and including expulsion from the league will be taken.
18. Late start: There will be a grace time of 15 minutes from the scheduled start time. At 15 minutes from scheduled start time, teams have to start with however many players are available. Other players can join the game but can only field and not bat or bowl for 5 overs or number of overs they have missed, whichever is lesser. By mutual consent, especially for games where one team has to travel far, the scheduled time can be changed to 9:30 for AM games.
19. Neutral umpiring: Any team that does not show up for neutral
umpiring as designated in the schedule will lose two points. Even if a team
has dropped out of the playoffs, it is still required to fulfill its umpiring
obligations per the published schedule.
In addition to losing two points, disciplinary action, up to and including expulsion
from the league will be taken."
20. Rain rule: All attempts should be made to complete the game on the scheduled day. In the event of rain, both teams and the neutral umpire should wait for a reasonable amount of time (at least 1 hour and no more than 3 hours) to see if the game can be played/continued. Both teams can decide to cancel the game by mutual consent and notify the umpire after a reasonable wait. If rain is predicted for the day, both teams can, by mutual consent, agree to play the game with reduced overs and notify the umpire prior to the start of the game. If the team batting second has completed 12 overs, then the team with the higher score at the end of however many overs they have completed will be declared the winner with extrapolated NRR. If the team batting second has not completed 12 overs, the game will be declared a draw and the teams will split the points. By mutual consent, the two teams can decide to replay the game on Sunday – they will have to notify the neutral umpire – the designated team will again the responsible for umpiring the game. The batting team can appeal for rain/bad light. The neutral umpire will decide on the validity of the claim and rule on rain delay/stoppage.
21. Day & Night matches: Some matches have been scheduled to play as Day & Night match. This is just an option, if both teams are interested to make this as a DAY/Night match, both teams have to share the cost incurr to arragne. The league organizers can only provide the contact numbers and ground location of the facilities where Day/Night matches can be played. If interested, you need to call the city/school people who are in-charge of the grounds at least 5 days before the match day. (Just to give you an idea, it cost min $15.00 per hour or more)"
